Liverpool Continue Winning Ways with 3-0 Victory over Aston Villa

Liverpool extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five matches with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday. Goals from Joel Matip, Sadio Mane, and Luis Diaz secured the three points for the Reds, who moved up to second in the table.
After a slow start to the game, Liverpool took the lead in the 21st minute when Matip headed home from a corner. Villa responded well and came close to equalizing on several occasions, but they were unable to find a way past Alisson Becker in the Liverpool goal.
Liverpool doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Mane finished off a fine move involving Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah. Villa continued to push for a goal but were unable to break down the Liverpool defense.
Diaz added a third goal for Liverpool in the 89th minute, tapping home from close range after Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez had saved from Salah. The win was Liverpool's fourth in their last five games and lifted them above Chelsea into second place.
Villa, meanwhile, remain 16th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone. They will be looking to bounce back when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Tuesday.
