Early Life and Education
George Robert Stephanopoulos was born on February 10, 1961, in Fall River, Massachusetts. The son of Greek Orthodox parents, Stephanopoulos was raised in a strict religious household. He attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes scholar in 1983, where he earned a master's degree in theology.
Political Career
Stephanopoulos first rose to prominence as a communications director for the 1992 presidential campaign of Bill Clinton. After Clinton's victory, Stephanopoulos served as White House Communications Director and Senior Adviser to the President.
