New York Jets News: Jason Garrett Says Aaron Rodgers’ Skill Is ‘Rare’

Garrett: Rodgers is an ‘elite’ player with ‘unique’ skill set

New York Jets offensive coordinator Jason Garrett praised Aaron Rodgers on Wednesday, calling the Green Bay Packers quarterback an “elite” player with a “rare” skill set.
“He’s one of the best to ever play the game,” Garrett said. “He’s got a unique skill set. He can make all the throws. He’s got great mobility. He’s a great leader. He’s a winner.”
Garrett’s comments came one day after the Jets lost to the Packers 27-10 in the preseason opener. Rodgers did not play in the game, but Garrett said he was impressed with what he saw from the 38-year-old quarterback in practice.
“He’s still got it,” Garrett said. “He’s still one of the best in the league. He’s a guy that we’re going to have to be ready for when we play them in the regular season.”
The Jets will face the Packers in Week 6 of the regular season.

Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP

Rodgers has won four NFL MVP awards, including three in the past four seasons. He has also led the Packers to nine NFC North titles and one Super Bowl championship.
Rodgers is one of the most accurate passers in NFL history, completing 65.6% of his passes for 55,360 yards and 449 touchdowns. He also has 93 rushing touchdowns.
Rodgers is entering his 18th season in the NFL. He is one of the most respected players in the league and is considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
